eMule Plus

Although eMule is one of the most popular P2P file sharing applications, there are still some stability issues that need to be addressed. If you don't want to give up on eMule, you can use eMule Plus. It looks and feels the same and it allows you to connect to the same servers, but it comes with an improved user interface and functionality. Thanks to its enhanced file verification techniques, corrupt or fake contents are less likely to be included in the search results.

Just like the original application, eMule Plus is free and open source. It works on all popular Windows platforms and it does not take more than a few seconds to complete the installation procedure. The setup file is almost 3 MB and it does not contain any spyware, adware or other malicious programs.

Apart from a few details, the user interface is identical to the original eMule. It has the same layout and options, but you can find a few additional functions if you look closely. For example, the search criteria (size, extension and so on), on the search page, has been replaced with a text box in which you can paste direct download links. The search parameters are still available, on the same page. Another clear difference is the fact that the general settings menu is better organized and that it contains more configuration options.

The real improvements can be noticed when downloading files. Although eMule Plus inherits some of the original's flaws and its speed is the same, the software is clearly more stable. You will not encounter as many problems as with the original and you will not download as many fake files.
